A letter from a giant
The world that once shook at my feet
fears me no longer.
Now fairy tales have made my world obsolete
and my stride a saunter.
I was struck by a meaningful sonder
one that made me see humans for what they are:
complex like me who look at stars way past yonder
and wish in their lives to travel far.
I wish they'd see us the same,
yet they misplaced us in childrens' books.
Dragons and elves never would say our name
and would bow down to avoid our cold stare.
Dwarves would forge us goblets as a sign of peace.
Humans forgot us and our soul crushing glare.
How is this fair?
I submit, I surrender, I submit.
There's nothing more we can do.
Nothing i can do.
Please hear us humans, please listen.
We're dying out the same way dragons, elves, and dwarves did.
We're being forgotten...
by you.
We used to roam lands as far as the eye can see,
now all that's left of us is fantasy.
